"I know you're tired. I know you can't see more than an inch in front of your face right now. But you're in the middle of your climb, Angel Gauze. Can't you feel how close you are to the top?" She looking into my eyes again, seeing right through my mind into my heart.

"I feel like I've messed up again. I'm trying to be different than what I was before. But am I missing the forest for the trees? Am I not focusing on what's really important by changing my hairstyle, and getting new clothes?"

Her eyes flutter away from mine momentarilly, and then lash into me. "When you do all these new things, how do you feel?"

"I feel...free. Like people can really see me."

"So what's the problem? Taking better care of yourself is a good thing. It's a very good thing." She smooths her fingers ove my choppy new cut and smiles. "Change is usually good."
