Terror on the mountains:Jan-18, Snow turned red.
Jan 18 - Snow

Terror on the mountains

The chalet on the mountain looked grim and bleak. The owners went elsewhere to spend the winter obviously. Snow

covered almost everything in the vicinity. The trees, The bush around, and the rocks were camouflaged under the snow

cover.

Vicki had a narrow escape from the border security force. They were hunting him down, with the information provided by an

informer. Even before he executed the plan, masterminded by the gang leader, they found him. He was supposed to go to

the city at the foot of the hills and plant a few bombs at strategic points. He was supposed to get the money soon after the

explosion. Now, it looked doubtful.

" i should have been more careful," thought Vicki as he ran across the snow covered forest. The soldiers were on hot

pursuit, behind him. He reached the chalet, and pushed open the creaky doors.

ift is a fairly spacious cottage with at least two rooms and a hall with a kitchen behind it. He set up wireless tried to get the

leaders. When he got connected, he explained the situation. They told him not to reveal anything if he got caught. Nothing about help.

" The bastards!" he muttered angrily. But for money, he wouldn’t enter the murky deal.

He heard gun shots from out side and knew fate was sealed. He ran to the back entrance and raced into the white hoarst.

Vicki started feeling fatigued, and hours on the mountains in bitter cold started telling on him. Then he got hit. The white on

the nearby rock stained with his blood gushing out of a wound in the chest.

He died dreaming of his smiling wife and the only son.

His was a fate similar to thousands of young men, who got caught in the net of politics, and vested interests.
