WELCOME TO 2012
WELCOME TO 2012
[Welcome to the New Year.]

Welcome to you, twenty and twelve,
Nascent, newborn infant of time,
When you were born the bells did chime;
Eleven’s burden we did shelve.

What you will bring we do not know.
No one knows yet Obama’s fate
But I say so quite clear and straight
I’m sure he’ll win the second show.

As to Iran and Hormuz strait,
I hope wiser counsel prevails.
If US in its restraint fails,
We may be at the world war’s gate.

For Pakistan let’s wish all good.
The tidings there are not pleasant;
The army for a fight is bent.
Let people have less bombs, more food.

For India, the elephant:
Can it the corruption remove,
Cast the burden, easily, move
At a pace fast and confident?
