On a farm in Oklahoma
Day 19: January 19, 2012 ~ 30-day Blog Challenge prompt is ”tell me your favorite birthday story!”

My mother was born on March 19, 1921 on a farm in Oklahoma. The doctor, the only person in the nearest town that had a car, drove to the farm to deliver Mom. The doctor didn’t weigh my mother until my parents brought her into town a few week later. When the doctor weighed my mother, she weight about three or four pounds.

When she was born, the doctor told my grandparents she wouldn’t live. My mother, with the help of her parents especially her father lived to prove the doctor wrong. My grandfather was one of those people you didn’t tell “It can’t be done”.

My grandfather believed that if you set your mind to something, you could do it. Grandpa would find a way to do the impossible, no matter what anyone else thought, if he thought he could do it then he would. This is my favorite birthday story.
