Today was the monthly walk. The weather forecast has fluctuated from rain all day, to sunshine and showers. I woke up at some obscene time this morning, looked out the window and behold, it was dry. Rushed around packing my bag, cleaning boots and getting ready to join the walking group. Set off and as soon as we hit the motorway the heavens opened. We carried on in the hope it was just a shower, but a few miles down the road it was still pimply sissing down, so we decided to turn back. Of course as soon as we arrived home it stopped and there hasn't been another drop since. It's even sunny now. I'M MIFFED Being a weather witch had I joined the walk it would probably have rained all day.

Lunch with a friend tomorrow hopefully and a grandmonster sitting weekend to follow. Oh Joy. Hubby got the suitcases down today. It will probably take him two weeks to pack and I can guarantee he'll forget something essential. Mine will be a last minute fling everything in a case and hope for the best, but it's so difficult to work out what to take when it could possibly be warm and we're just so NOT used to that at the moment.

As today demonstrates forecasts are totally unreliable so do I assume St Louis, San Diego and Nashville will still be warmish and dry in autumn and Boston much cooler by then? Or do I believe that the weather witch will no doubt affect conditions adversely wherever she travels? Any advice gratefully received.

I will need to buy a new brolly as mine is knackered after being used almost every day since April.
