lost another one
Is there any place to look for lost entries? Like maybe a draft page? That was a good one, and I want it back.

Here's the sequel to it. I'll try writing it again tomorrow. Too late tonight.

On Acquiring a Cane

When you begin to use a cane,
you should know what to expect.
People will be jealous!
After all
you‘ll have instant respect.
Your cane will make you stand out
as a person of wisdom and distinction.
Young men fly to
open doors for you.
Children beg to try it out,
walking with exaggerated limps.
feeling old and smart and cackling.
Even friends will ask to borrow it
to reach for pill bottles that rolled beneath the bed,
or the dog’s ball stuck behind the chest of drawers.
On the other hand,
it makes a nasty clatter when it falls
inevitably
from the chair or counter to the floor, which helps you
remember where you left it.
