Wednesday and Thursday Poems
The heat in Las Vegas

It's a dry heat,
no clouds conceal the noonday sun
and a slight wind
move the limbs of oak and olive trees.

It's a dry heat,
these triple digit days
make indoor activities
desirable.

Thursday Morning In Las Vegas

The birds are singing
happy about the early morning breeze
a beautiful Thursday in Las Vegas.

The wind is blowing
through the limbs of olives and oaks
another triple digit day.

Thursday Morning Coffee

Sipping
a cup of rich dark coffee
warmed over in the microwave,
I glance out my living room window
and witness
a white butterfly flitting past;
I wonder
if this is the same butterfly
I saw yesterday
as I sipped a cup
of fresh brewed coffee.

Nature is Wonderful

a white butterfly
is flitting from weed to weed
a nightingale sings
