Accepting and Excepting

On a planet so green with such envy and greed
I ponder what it means to be accepting and free
The man with limp who is crying for help
The woman has no one to blame but herself

I am all for accepting if people can know love
and in so doing give praise to the God up above
I long for the day that I see people caring
rather than at destitute people staring

Excepting mean I can not trust everyone
to care for my two little grandsons
I realize there are some persons who are lurking
who would like nothing more than shirking

The people that give us joy everyday
seeking to survive in their own precious ways
For these people I would ask you to pray
Discernment to serve in both love and in praise

Accepting, excepting are one and the same
They are ways to reveal who our God is by name
Attempting great things so that others might know
Expecting provisions and love that will grow
