Getting my Car Fix

I never thought I would be saying this, but my life is revolving more and more about getting my car fix. Now I can understand getting myself fixed(fixated) on things like tennis, ministry, family, and even a good plate of good food. I never thought I would be looking forward to a car fix. Part of what brought it on was buying my son's 1998 Toyota Camry. The car had two hundred and sixty-nine thousand miles on it. Leave it to me to fall in love and determine that I will redeem it out the junkyard for hopefully many more days to come.

Part of what I did not expect is all the time spent in getting my car fix. It runs good and yet as I invest in the old geezer(the car) I notice I am more committed to give the car the best chance at enjoying the life that it has left. I believe there is a metaphor somewhere. My relationships, vocation and well-being are contingent upon investment. How much do I really want to care about and for those I care most about. As I get my car fix, I look forward to a much larger extent to seeing what this adventure might mean in the arena of people, the arena of life.
