Breath Taking
October 12th, 2013 *Shock*

In my younger years, I remember all the breath taking views. There were places like Niagara Falls, Silverton Durango railroad, view from the top of mountains and whale watches. I was caught in a state of wonder. Who would have thought or dreamed something like what I was existed. I literally took my breath away.
"Wow!!!! Did you see that?"
It was kind of like coming out of the womb for the first time.

I have grown older. I still experience breath taking views. I am noticing as my energy level for travel has gone down that breath taking scenery is only a short distance comparatively speaking.

1. I am in a state of wonder at seeing my grandkids grow and chasing them all around the house is enough to take my breath away.

2. I find myself in a state breath taking awe as I play one of my nephews in one on one basketball. The last time I saw him was when he was five, at the age of thirteen he has gotten to be quite a handful. He can not wait to play me again.

3. Breath taking is getting into church and finding out I can still belt out a tune, even if it is not as vibrant as in my younger years. I love songs like Amazing Grace, It Is Well With My Soul, Great Is Thy Faithfulness. They are songs worth losing one's breath over. I also confess to singing with contemperary Christian artists on the radio.

4, Breath taking covers a lot of territory, the more I think about it. I can still run, work, worship, watch ball games, eat and eat and eat, make love to my wife, play tennis with my kids. Life is good!

So the next time you consider seeing breath taking scenery open your eyes. It may not be as far away as it seems.: *Wink*
