Fishing
October 18th, 2013 *Boat*

Fishing is a pretty powerful word for me. I had a grandfather who had us digging night crawlers by night and early in the morning (too early) we set out for a fishing hole ready for the big catch. More often than not we would catch some and often enough we made our limit. Boy did that fish taste yummy. You would of thought we were eating steak and lobster. To youngsters between eight and sixteen there was nothing like fishing brook trout and rainbows.

Fishing is a learning experience. There are ways to bait the hook, casting, getting the fish off the hook, making sure the fish does not get away and the list could go on forever. Oh and whatever you do,
"Please don't get that line tangled up son"
How many times did I hear that one. It was the untangling that seemed just as labor intensive as the fishing somedays. Thanks God for Papa. He took care of the untangling. A lot of people talked about how impatient he was. All I can say is that they probably did no go fishing with my grandfather very much. *BigSmile*

Granddad has since passed away to some fishing hole somewhere. There has to be one. That seemed to be his reason for living. *Cross1*
"Let's go to the fishing hole"-He said with a great big grin at 4:30 in the morning.
He would be whispering to make sure he did not wake anyone else up. It was our secret special thing we did together kind of like going to church.

Life is a lot like that. We fish for meaning in a world that seems forever confusing and lost. When we find the fish (what we truly value) we want everyone to know about it. We learn skills that keep us sharp, get to the place on time and don't forget the untangling. I see that as my main task. I untangle words jumbled in my brain and try to make sense of them in such a way that others can decide for themselves that there is more to life than staying home in bed
