Second Helpings

More Observations

Ten days passed by in a blur between entries this time. In my defence we have had my mother-in-law's funeral and aftermath as well as a three day visit from my sister, but it still appears time is disappearing at a faster and faster rate of knots. All I have yet again are a few more snippets. I really must get out there and do something exciting or shocking.

Cat and washing are reunited with son and family, but son is now without a job. Annoying cutbacks and finances mean his firm have been taken over by different contractors who think they can run the department on a tighter budget. Only time will tell. My son works with dangerous criminals and in my mind, the cuts will lead to problems. We are hoping another position will come along very soon as being without a job would be disastrous for them. On the bright side Bobby is still a very happy and placid five-month-old.

My knitting is making slow progress. I didn't realise a Ninja Turtle sweater contained so many colours and working with over a dozen balls of wool is doing my head in as well as taking ages to untangle all the balls at the end of each row. I will certainly post a photo of it once it's completed, but I fear by then Dylan will be a teenager and I'll be in my dotage.

Sis and I decided over bottles and nibbles our colour themed diet isn't working for some reason. As we were running out of suitable colours anyway, we've now switched to finding healthy recipes containing foods using the letters of the alphabet. It wasn't until I was going round the supermarket this morning I realised how few foods start with A. Not being a fan of anchovies, avocado, aubergines, artichokes or asparagus makes it difficult and there's only so much you can do with apples and apricots. On the bright side again, B should be a bumper week of choices.

My walking boots survived being left out in the rain, but the rain continues. I now have a new pedometer which fits in a pocket or bag rather than having to be clipped to clothes, but it's making me aware I'm not getting out walking enough. The rain doesn't help and my walking boots are making it clear they aren't waterproof. Maybe I need to drop a few hints about that and the fact there is an official Robbie Williams calendar this year. Plus a new CD by him and various other of my favourite artists. I hope Santa knows how good I've been this year.

The twitch in my left eye has subsided somewhat, but I now have a stonking cold to take my mind off it. Rudolph may have some fierce competition over the next few weeks.
