A New Adventure

I awoke to the challenge of a new adventure. I have begun to explore once again the joy of caregiving. I person I will help take care of has severe last stage alzheimer's. I am reminded of the suffering my dad went through as he prepared to leave for a better place that he called home. I was humbled as I saw this gentleman laying in his bed dependent by all who entered his room to meet his most basic needs. My major function will be to transfer him from his bed to a chair in the living room. He can not talk and has no strength in his legs to help. I am in awe of the magnitude of the situation. His wife is the mainstay who keeps the whole vehicle in motion. A small dog by the name of Dandy is the ever present minstrel, Roy's protector. Pray that God gives me the strength and kindness to meet the needs in a spirit of unyielding grace!!
