Love's ticket
Love's ticket offered me a trip to the promised land the other day. I showed up for my usual caregiving stint and it was if God was speaking to me. Here was someone who was on the verge of going to the ER, he had blood in his urine and his leg was all swollen like a balloon. The nurse looked him over and decided to try something out. After talking with the doctor is was decided he was having side effects from the medicine and he survived to be at home another day. It was one of those forever days. He wrestled and fought with pain. I wondered two things:
1. How could someone suffer so much?
2 How could anyone stay and be with someone who suffered so much
We did everything to try to bring him comfort. We fought and he fought. Who would suffer that much for another and immediately thought of Jesus in between living and dying. Here I was witness to a miracle. Jesus is there in resurrected form and asks me to put my hand in his hand where nails pierced him and put my hands in his side. It was in this moment I was glad to be there. If God could love me so much by sending Jesus, how could I not be with Charles. And sure enough it was not Charles time. He calmed was at peace. He lived to fight another day.
