The Gift

Merry Christmas has come!

I felt joy as I shared about family with a supervisor at work. I discovered we had a lot in common. She was missing the presence of a son who was bitter. I was missing my mother. We both had valuable gifts to share with each other. I wondered how this Christmas would be different. I learned that in sharing the emptiness you open the way for others to come in and fill the emptiness. The manger was empty until the baby Jesus came to occupy the space. May the gift of infilling greet all those who look forward to the coming of Christ, the gift!!!
