WRITING FOR WHO?
" In my view a writer is a writer because even when there is no hope, even when nothing you do shows any sign of promise, you keep writing anyway.”

Blog City Prompt: What makes a writer a writer in your view? And accordingly, do you agree with this quote by Junot Diaz?

Well it seems to me that a person whose writing appears hopeless will still realize some benefit from that expression of personal freedom in the activity of writing. For some folks, thoughts get more organized and even recognized when written down. Diaries and journals fulfill that ;purpose.

I've kept journals for years, and they're certainly not writing for anyone to see. It's just daily life notes

I guess it's no different from a person who likes or feels the need to talk a lot. Then look at the explosion of 'selfies'---personal photos (usually not very good) published on the social networks and FaceBook. Personal expression is a human need, yes?

There were 304,912 titles published in 2013. And think about this: E-books now make up around 30% of all book sales. So thousands upon thousands of things written and we know that some of them are hopeless and never read. Go figure.

Just think, more people read this blog than have read my published books. I keep writing and know I'm getting better. Besides that, I love it!
