Day 24: Bragging Rights!
Day 24 Prompt for the "30-Day Blogging Challenge" : Open mic night prompt. Write about whatever you want. All I ask is that you have fun with it. Enjoy!

Open prompt means open brag. We all joined this writing site to write. And it really does get a writer to progress from one level to the next. When I first started six months ago, I wrote very little dialogue. Maybe a snippet here and there. Now I am paying attention to what people say and how they say it, and it is coming easier.

So since this is my opportunity to blatantly promote my favorite stories, yea, you!

The very first story I posted on the site, was listed in the noticing newbies newsletter. I was stoked. It is a short little ditty, but if you read this and compare it to what I am doing now, there is vast improvement.

I think the funniest story I ever wrote was based on a challenge from my friend who was stationed overseas. I told him about a run in with a mouse and he challenged me to write it from the mouse’s perspective. What a hoot! (in my ever so humble opinion.)

I get super stoked when my writing wins a prize. I wrote Chelsea and Duane based on real life experiences when my sister was dying of cancer. I put it in a contest and it won first place.

The latest story is one where the prompt skewed my creativity to write a story about teens. I don’t think it won, but it was fun writing it. I had to push myself to write a story with teens, but that is the direction the story wanted to go.
