Family affair

It was one of those funny nights. I walked up to give one of the concierge persons a break. I immediately noticed there were flowers. She shared that they were for her and she loved daisies. Immediately I was reminded of how my dad loved to give my mom daisies. He would send us off to get some daisies for mom. Just before he died my sister Kim got him some flowers to celebrate their 39th wedding anniversary. Family has a funny way of greeting us even when parents are no longer around.

At the end of the night Tobi, a friend from Ethiopia stopped me and wanted to talk with me about what was happening in his country with "Isis". He asked me to pray for his family and friends there. He asked me to pray not only for them but for Isis.

I miss my family back East much and yet I am discovering family is near in many unexpected forms and ways.
