A Young Daughter's Temper
A Writer's Cramp poem: (40 lines or less/24 hours)
Prompt: Describe in your poem or story at least 3 colours, without naming these.
A Young Daughter’s Temper
Her eyes ocean-hued, storm-raged by mood,
didn’t allow tears to sweep her eyelashes wet.
Strong as winter waves, resilient as a tossed ship,
she held herself erect, in full-masted straightness.
Her hair, hand-flung back in temper, glowed.
Moon beams painted sunsets and fall leaves
across the surface where tiny rebellions curled,
each loosened strand in combat against its tether.
Her lips, pursed into puckered waves of sulk,
withstood the desire to give vent to her rage.
Yet, despite her non-wet eyes, tight-fisted curls,
Pouting cherry lips -- I couldn’t help but kiss her.
