The Raging Tempest

I hear them coming, the men and their guns
I have been expecting them
The lightning shows their anger
And determination to kill me

Though they think they will surprise me 
They will have a difficult task
I am cunning
And watch them from afar
They do not know I am waiting
For the ambush that awaits them

The storm is an omen of their fate
And a mirror of my soul
Dark, foreboding, and ruthless

The gunfire, the thunder in the night
Is music to my ears
And is the last thing they ever hear
Their screams pierce the darkness
Like the raging tempest

And I smile and walk away
