Hi there I dropped in some time ago but have been very erratic with my visits to the site. I am now trying to marshal my life and focus. You mention a seizure disorder. How is that going these days if I can ask? I mention this as I have spent some years suffering from cluster headaches. In the end I had chronic clusters and the doctors could not help. My wife found the answer in the end and it was a matter of using the current medications in a different way. Anyway I hope all is well now and look forward to hearing from you sometime. |
I know I am not around much anymore, but I love this site and like to keep all of my work in one place. But I got caught off guard and my membership expires on Halloween. If anyone can possibly donate, it would be really helpful. Any amount would be awesome. |
Don't forget you get pretty much instant GPs by reviewing. You can go to the Community tab and choose Auto-Reward Items, Read a Newbie, or Read & Review for good GPs. If you do actually good, thoughtful reviews, you might get rewarded by the person you are reviewing as well. Good luck! I believe in you! |
Just want to say, thank you so much to those of you who donated to help me stay around. II love this community so much. Sometimes you guys know me better than my family. This is where I bear my soul. |
Because it’s been so long between visits I’m not sure who is still around. So I am tagging all of my friends that I have let down and sorely neglected. I really feel inspired to start volunteering and I’m sure I’ll come across some great family stories. Finally I have found the next step in the road I want to take. So, even though I’ve said it 1 million times I will be coming back. I just need to get my passion back. Aundria!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hello my dear friend! It is wonderful to see you! "Roots & Wings Contest" it currently open, it must have been calling to you. If you would like to judge a round...? Drop me an email. |
Good to see you here. Although I have been myself absent for quite a while, seeing you around makes me happy. |
Need help quick! My daughter is getting married on July 3 and has asked me to read something at the ceremony. It was only then, as I went through my portfolio, that I realized I don’t have anything appropriate for the occasion! I guess don’t write about romantic love. I almost never have. Weird. Does anyone have a really good piece to recommend that I can read? Or better yet a prompt to help me maybe pick a direction and write something of my own. I don’t know where to start and I don’t know if I have it in me to write it in time |
Uh...I write poems about dogs and dust bunnies. I don't think that would work for you. I don't know for sure, but I feel compelled to refer you to Choconut ~ Dragon Tamer 's port. I would look around for you, but I'm up against some deadlines myself and I'm not 100% sure what you are looking for. |
If you're going to do a speech, I like the idea of sharing a memory or two of your daughter that might not be well known to everyone attending but highlights her personality in a way that they'll go 'Oh, that's classic [insert name here]'. Sharing your favourite piece of advice is always nice. Who was it that wrote a lovely piece about how their mother always complimented strangers? Was that you? If it was, that's a nice piece of advice to share as they start their life together, and also a lovely way to honour your mother. If not, it could be funny little things like a recipe you epically screwed up once that she'll remember (don't forget to soak the raisins when making the CHristmas pudding!) or whatever, or making sure to put each other's birthdays and anniversaries into their Google calendars so they don't forget them, or it could sweet or important advice. Then welcome her spouse to the family, either simply or by sharing a funny memory about your first impressions of him. Best of luck! |
Once again I am checking in to say hello to everyone. I keep meaning to get back to writing and I just never seem do it. But my last child is leaving home next year and I now have 40 years of nothing on my daily schedule. With all this time on my hands I’ve decided to do volunteering for hospice care. It’s a great way to find life stories for people who would otherwise not have the time or ability to record them. And besides I really need friends. I am still incredibly lonely. I have written in the past a little about what I want to do with my writing and I feel like this will get me another step closer. In fact I wrote a short essay on it a long time ago before I really had an idea of what to do with it

Wow...are you finally back here in the site Aundria? I haven't seen you for a very long time. |
Right? I have just lost my motivation and lost my way I think. Not to mention my laptop start glitching out so it would have been hard for me to upload anything new anyway. But hopefully my muse will kick in when II start volunteering and getting out of the house |
I see. That's sad but it's okay. I hope everything goes well for you now. I'm glad to see you around. |
Interesting you mention clusters. My husband gets cluster migraines all the time. They usually come in bunches of three. So ugly get treated the same way. It’s like we’re opposite sides of the same coin.
