Acrostic
Autumnal Equinox
September 22, 2014 at 10:26 P.M. EDT

Another summer has come and gone
Under time's unrelenting march.
The trees have begun the change their clothes
Urged on by cooler temperatures and shorter days.
Maybe this is the reason for my malaise!
Nights are growing longer, colder, and darker,
Animals are preparing to hibernate,
Last year's winter clothes are unpacked.

Everywhere I see signs of transformation,
Quickly falling leaves hide dying grass,
Up in the high mountains snowbirds gather,
In grocery stores Halloween candy is on display,
Now is the time for joyous celebrations;
Only, I do not want to celebrate.
Xmas will bring the end of another year.
