The sticky mess of vanilla
oozes down her hand
a rivulet of joy

The hot sun kisses
her child's cheeks
and in the lurid heat of summer
wonder is in the air

The staccato voice
of adventure sings to her
daring her to leave her
fear behind her
and dance to it's song

She stares in awe
at the colorful mountains of
steel tracks around her
Vibrant carts
wail and scream
as they zoom by
and her heart beats to their rhythm
