This could be the year of "me". That's not an original thought. I stole it from someone else. It seemed good. You know--the year we lose weight, the year we get healthier, more physically fit. The year we spend more time relaxing and de-stressing. The year we take more time off from work, spend more time with family, or more time alone. This could be the year we take classes or learn a new game or to play a new musical instrument. It could be the year we get smarter. We could take up a new hobby or get more involved in one we already have. This could be the year we become more charitable people, not just giving money to causes, but actually doing things. We could become more caring, more loving, more active people and meet other people and feel better about ourselves in the process. This could be the year we start sleeping better. I know that would be a challenge for me personally, to have regular bedtimes and sleep longer during the night. It would great not to feel tired all the time. One could turn the "year of me" into a selfish, self-centered kind of thing. Or if done well, the whole family and even our co-workers could benefit from a livelier, better rested, more outgoing, well-rounded "me". Maybe it could rub off on them, and they'd be happier, more peaceful, too. |
