Homelessness

What is Homelessness it is being without a home
Without food or a place to lay your head
To take a warm shower or even what one feels like
When you find yourself along

Homelessness is when you have nothing
Or if you will find something
Homelessness is not knowing when you get your next meal
A warm blanket to keep warm with on a cold winter night

Or a place in from the cold or even the warm nights
If you have money to get stolen or keep safe
If the only thing you have on your back
Is what you have on for clothing
Not knowing what to do next.

It is winter here and I am cold
Nowhere to turn nowhere to go
I can feel the cold on my face and hands
I can smell rain and pine from the trees

The sound of moving cars and trucks
The colors for winter from brown to pale green
The squirrels find their acorns for their food
It is disturbing that a bench is what I have.

I am alone and homeless
