I Love Old TV Shows & Movies
Anyone who has ever read one day in my blog has probably discerned that I love old TV shows and movies, more than modern ones. For one thing, I don't know modern stars. And I'm old school. I don't like shock for the sake of shock. Too much stuff today is of prurient interest only and has no redeeming values. I'm not a peeping tom and don't revere foul language like I'm a rebellious teenager.

I never realized it until the last few years, but I like old cowboy shows. Not all of them. Some of them just have a nostalgia or retro feel to them. See one and you've seen enough for a while. But some are really good. There are some non-western jewels like The Alfred Hitchcock hour in black and white.

Some shows are so dated, that even though I like them once upon a time, but I don't care for them now. Designing Women, Golden Girls, and Coach were shows I loved first time around. Can't stand them now. Seinfeld, M.A.S.H., and Andy Griffith seem timeless. TVLand run the same shows over and over, while other channels pick them up as well. I'd like to see some not so well known shows run once in a while, then replaced with another.Like start over with the well known Desperate Housewives, go straight through, then run International Airport, Hotel, etc. Alfred deserves a spot, as does Twilight Zone. And we never see fondly remembered shows like Batman, Get Smart, He and She,or many others. It would be fun to take a trip back in time once in a while.

The shows we saw when we were young, even if they weren't well done, have a special place in our memories. They were the ones we talked about in school the next day. And I like looking at the actors when they were young, knowing what they look like now.
