Today...
Today, I am a novelist.

For the first time in my life, I can say that I have a completed draft of a novel. I have done many partials. I am sure there are many holes in the plot, places where I fishtailed and got confused about which thing had happened. But my hero has done what he set out to do. After landing on the planet Larrikesh, and getting stranded there, he has fixed the largest social ill plaguing the planet, retrieved his confiscated starchaser, and set a course for the wild black.

Of course, in a few hours he will realize his error in ignoring his friend's advice again - that his work is only half done - leading into book two. But for now, I am able to consider this phase complete!
