I usually don't check my Facebook page in the morning, but this morning I did. I turned on the computer logged into Bank of America and looked at my checking account (I do this everyday). Normally I log into writing.com after I check my bank account, but this morning I had a feeling I should log into Facebook. When I logged into my Facebook account, I found a message from my nephew that his father was in Memorial Hospital Central for tests. The think Tom might have experienced a mini stroke.

My Prayer Book

Dark burgundy
with a silver nine-pointed star
blooming on its cover.

I open to the healing prayers,
I intone
"Thy name is my healing,"
meditate upon the words knowing
that only true healing come from God.

I close my prayer book,
inhale the crisp morning air,
and then give thanks
for the prayer book and the prayer.

God's love and grace are the flames
that ignite the walls separating
the human species
and heals humanity's xenophobia.

I meditate upon the words revealed by Baha'u'llah. The prayers and the scriptures proclaiming the unity of the human race. We are the flowers in God's garden. The words of God's Glory unite and heal us; they scatter the storm of hate and fear that threatens to wash us away in its floods.

We are the fish
swimming in the ocean
of God's creation
and love.
