The truth
Once upon a merry time
A young lady met a young man
To sing and dance
And have a merry time

Once upon a sentimental time
The young man dropped to his knee
Please, won’t you marry me?
As so it began the sentimental time

Once upon a most joyful time
The two lovebirds welcomed new life
Not once, not twice, but three lives
And they saw most joyful times

Once upon a sorrowful time
The struggle was almost too much to bear
No calling it quits or splitting their share
They got passed the sorrowful time

Once upon a shattered time
The end of life is drawing near
Neither wants to leave the other here
In this shattered time

Ain’t it the truth.
We live our lives for one another
As a dependent
As a lover
As a parent
As a friend
And then it ends.
