GROUND IS ALWAYS STRONGER
We begin to see that we cannot beat illness or pain, or ever really conquer these things. While it seems like beating or conquering pain would be empowering we are on shaky ground already. We may heal and recover, and our pain may fade, but more importantly illness and pain remind us that these bodies do not last.

There is a subtle sense of guilt and shame around these topics. We are embarrassed of the body’s pain and its dying, but no body is immune from failure and at some point will pass away. In the face of our own failing we may find that we do not master pain.

We can surrender to it to reveal the place within us that is ever unfailing and instead of resisting it we can find that its grounded view is made of the most uncompromising power.
