Thanksgiving Comes Before Christmas
Talk Tuesday!

With Christmas right around the corner (there are only eight more Fridays 'til then!)...do you pick up gifts here and there throughout the year, do you try to get as much as you can in as few trips as possible, or are you a last-minute shopper? And if you don't celebrate Christmas, tell us about your favorite gift-giving occasion.

Eight more Fridays til Christmas? When you put it like that I say eek! I do not like to be a last minute Christmas shopper. NO! NO! I better make a list and start checking it twice. *CheckP*

This year 2016 has crunched my budget so even though some years I am part way finished by now this year I have not even started even though, I thought of getting started. About July, when I'd go out to shop I would get mental nudges to buy just one gift. I ignored the thoughts.

A big thing is: I have not seen any items while shopping that needed giving. Now, I noticed when I was in local stores this weekend that the stores are finally stocking up so maybe there will be more available to interest my gift giving urge.

I love Christmas! We have a lovely artificial tree that I bought when my children were young. It is a seven foot tree. Every year I buy one new decoration for the tree. So, after 35 years there are a lot of them. It is the main decoration we use. Since, I don't like outdoor lights because of cost for electricity. However, last year I saw some outdoor strings of lights that are powered by solar. That's a *Cool* idea.

My pet parrot used to sit in the tree at Christmas. {No. He was very polite and never did his business in the tree or even chewed a limb.) Later in years when there were to many other pets in the house he was not the only one. All my cats still like to curl up under the tree near the nativity scene. I keep a picture of special cat friend I used to have, that is curled up among the gifts under the tree. He is asleep waiting for morning to open his gift.

First Thanksgiving, all the family members are busy, we have not even had a phone meeting to discuss the holidays. I will be busy until January.
