Haunted Las Vegas and The Forgotten Rose
Friday, December 9, 2016

"Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love."
Mother Teresa

The "Blogging Circle of Friends prompt for DAY 1003
I was watching the weather channel this evening and they began discussing legends that occur in certain areas. One is Interstate 4 approach to the St. Johns River Bridge in Seminole County Florida, another in Devil's Gate Dam in Pasadena, California

Are their strange occurrences or legends where you live? Please, tell us about them. Do you think they are real or an overactive imagination?

Haunted Las Vegas

There are numerous haunted places in Nevada. To find this you go to The Shadow Lands1 website to find Haunted Places in Nevada2. I found this site by searching Bing for Nevada or Las Vegas, Nevada, legends or hauntings. Nevada and Las Vegas are fortunate to have numerous places that are reported to be haunted. Some of these places are outside of Las Vegas, but there are several hotel-casinos in Las Vegas that have haunting reputations. Caesars Place Hotel Casino is supposed to have haunted bathrooms just off one of the escalators while Circus Circus has three or four haunted rooms. There are two schools, a middle and elementary school, that are said to be haunted. There is one infamous ghost, Bugsy Segal, haunting the Flamingo Hotel & Casino.

The "Blog City ~ Every Blogger's Paradise prompt for DAY 1485
Write a blog entry using the following title as inspiration "The Forgotten Rose".

The Forgotten Rose

Scarlet petals fall,
like blood from an open wound,
covering enmity's charred ground
with love's life force.

I weep
as each petal drops,
like soldiers on a battlefield,
onto the fallow soil
of hate.

I listen
to the spectral wind
shouting,
"Love and hate cannot exist
in the same heart!"

I hear
a nightingale proclaim,
"Take a lesson
from this forgotten rose
and do not let hate
suck the nourishment love
from the roots
of your spirit."
