There's More to Write!
O, Lovely Day, I know 'tis true!
There's so much more to write!
I want to leave the world when through
with weighty thoughts, not light!

Now, where to start upon this day?
To poetry or prose?
Will others shape the things I say?
Will mem'ry speak as knows?

No doubt the po'm will always prime
the sinews of my write
That when unlock the latest rhyme
the prose will seem more bright!

One hopes my novel will be strong,
when monthly write arrives.
Yet, first I might need write a song
to focus prose that thrives.

Mayhaps I'll be as Chaucer was
to write an epic tale
In poetry to tell the cause
of lives of joy and wail.

Or could we grimace at the sight
of Grendel's nearest kin
To hope at Be'wolf's cousin's fight
last victory to win?

Explore we now another thought
of Christmas hero's woe,
Who rode through forest as he fought
for Hope to lately grow!

Did Grendel ever Santa fight
to make his metal firm!
Did Vict'ry always through the night
make reddish river's berm?

Methinks the bearded jolly man
did live his life of joy
To rid the world of Evil's plan
with Goodness to employ!

Whate'er the final page bequeaths
I know 'twill wondrous be!
For parting from the past beneath
will give much Good to see!
