Random Thoughts on A Circle, A Square, and A Triangle
Friday, June 23, 2017

It's been a good week
I did waste a little time,
but I still wrote everyday.

The "Blogging Circle of Friends prompt for DAY 1680
A circle, a square, and a triangle. It's your blog create something with a circle, a square, and a triangle involved.

Random Thoughts on A Circle, A Square, and A Triangle

Sometimes,
like the days of the week,
I feel as if I'm going in circles,
pretending to move forward
when I moving around
a well worn path
back to the starting point.

"The Internet is becoming the town square for the global village of tomorrow."
Bill Gates

This morning, I took two small plastic grocery bags of trash to the dumpster in the alley. I place the bags on the seat of my walker and rolled them to the dumpster. At the dumpster I encountered one of the local female dumpster divers collecting recyclables, we talked and then I continued on my morning walk around the square of my block. After I returned to my apartment, I decided to post a morning update on Facebook. The status post turned into a rant about the people being unable to live off paychecks or social security money.

After this mornings little rant, I have to agree with Mr. Gates assessment of the internet. It is becoming a town square, and social networks, such as Facebook, are becoming the soapboxes of the world. Those of use who don't have much of a voice offline, because we're too poor for Congress to listen to us, can get on line and rant about things we feel strongly about. I don't know if it will do any good, but it may cause one or two people to think about other people besides themselves.

A circle, a square, and a triangle walked into Starbucks--
and the circle bought every round.

The only triangle I can remember having in my life was a love triangle. The only reason that occurred was because I was young, foolish, and believed everything a guy told me. I learned better. I forgave myself. I moved on. I will continue to use the experience in stories, poems, and essays. The reason writers have learning experiences is to give them fodder for writing.
