My Muse
My Muse:
To The Blessed Beauty

God's Glory is my inspiration,
He is the reason I wake each day;
I intone His words when I pray.1

Dear Blessed Beauty,

Over the years I have wrote many poems and a couple of essays about my muse, which at the time I thought was synonymous with inspiration. I have, recently, came to the conclusions that, for me, this is not true. Anything can inspire an idea for a poem, but only you can encourage me to write the poem. If it were not for you, I would not work as hard to make a poem perfect, or, at least, as perfect as I can make it.

You are my muse!
You help me encounter
the events and actions
that generate the poetic ideas.

Blessed Beauty, you help me deal with the traumatic events of my past through poetry. Without you, I would not be the poet I am today because I would have allowed my fear to get in the way of writing. Please forgive me for the times I have allowed the fear felt by my insistent self to overtake my talent.

Forever Your Struggling Poet
