A Song

Proclaim the glorious news to all
The time of unity is here
God's promise is fulfilled
The promised one has come
My beloved is Baha'u'llah
I proclaim His glorious name to humanity

The Soul of the World
Poetry is the soul of a cultural...
Eric Priestley

1

God's refreshing wind blows
across Earth
wakes the sleepers from their slumber
with the perfume of rose
faith's new birth

The Nightingales singing
on the boughs
of the Tree of Life the good news
their voices proclaiming
to arouse

My Beliefs
Read each morning and evening

I am taking good care of myself.
My life is working out better then I expected.
Each day my faith grows stronger.
I am moving in the right direction.
I am expressing my faith through my actions.
I am who I was meant to be.

Starts to poems

Listen to thunder rumble
Echoing through city streets
Listen to children laughing
reverberate across interstellar parsecs,
the artist,
Time to go to the grocery store,
To purchase treats for that special night,
When little monsters go from door to door,
Laughter reverberates through the night,
Have you ever wondered about your guardian angel?
Where can he be found when he's not following you around?
After his sift is over does he return to heaven?
Have you every looked into a plate glass window and caught a glimpse
This is the night my Lord was born
We left the Hotel California
In a quest for the lost Dutchman's mine
We caught a train to Arizona
Promising the Dutchman's gold to find
Dancing tinsel
Paint it scarlet

6

Arrows of love fly
Set fire to dogma's deadwood
Free the seeds of faith.

7

pricks the fingers of dawn
bleeds across the sky

Shadow Beliefs

Beliefs about ourselves that keep
us form success.

What are my shadow beliefs?
Fear of the light.
Whenever I find myself reacting to another person I need to ask myself: "What trait in that person am I denying in myself?

10
The DNA of Jazz

Feel the syncopated rhythm of ragtime.

11
To Baby Doe

Did someone else want this child
that was thrown so casually away?
Left in a dumpster to die
of starvation, dehydration, heatstroke.

12

In the tranquil dawn
I see the crimson shore
I hear angelic melodies

13
Hot Words

One race
One society
One planet
One people
A single species
A single kind
A single progeny
Search for truth
Reality-impaired

14
Ego Poem

My Fountain dreams
Ascend out of the abyss
Of insistent self

15
Transformation Poem

Love transforms
an atom
into a sun
a water droplet
into an ocean

The stretching begins,
love pulls at self
ripping apart
vain imaginings,
idle fancies,
and fears.

Molecule by molecule,
atom by atom,
subatomic particle by subatomic particle
self is recreated,
reborn,
transformed,
resurrected
into a new reality.

16
Moonlight and Snow

Moonlight caresses
the late winter snow

Sun returns melts snow
Provides grass blades with meadows
butterfly rainbows

Pregnant with a new millennium
the warring crescent
transforms the night sky

17
The Point Between

Yesterday is a dream!

"Can you spare a ten spot
for a dime bag of oblivion?"

Tomorrow is an illusion!

Can you spare a buck
for a bottle of forgetfulness?"

Today is the point between!

19
The DNA of Jazz

The syncopated rhythm of ragtime
The tear laden chords of blues
