Pale stone-like trunks grow
out of the ebony soil.

Scarlet blossoms bloom
thorns drawn from a lover's hand
stone trunks sharp bark
razor sharp
silently ascends

III

Thorns drawn from the lover's hand
scarlet blossoms bloom
Striking green fingers with color
