On the First Day of Autumn 2017

Coffee on a chilly autumn morning, and random words racing through my mind. The word either drive out the depressing headlines or enhance their meaning. Prayers said, medication taken, and morning's rituals finished (probably not in that order). Should have taken out the trash, but didn't. Facebook checked, e-mails read, reviews accomplished, two poem finished and posted in "Bicentenary Poems and Prose" , and three documents created for this week's The Grammar Garden and The Exploratory Writing Workshop.

My Favorite Season

I like the cooler seasons
spring and autumn,
but I can't decide which
is my favorite.

In the spring
I celebrate Naw-Ruz
and the Twelve Days of Ridvan,
while in the autumn
I celebrate
the Twin Holy Days:
the Birth of the Bab
and Baha'u'llah.
