Happy Groundhog Day!

The groundhog in Pennsylvania was given the name "Punxsutawney Phil, Seer of Seers, Sage of Sages, Prognosticator of Prognosticators, and Weather Prophet Extraordinary'' and his hometown thus called the "Weather Capital of the World.'' Phil wants a starring role in your blog, short story or poem. Have fun.

Punxsutawney Phil Visits a Psychiatrist

"Mr. Phil," Doctor Minder said, as he reviewed his notes before ending the first session. "I believe I can give you a pulmonary diagnosis this time."

"please, Dr. Minder, just call me Phil. Everybody else does."

"Very well, Phil. As I was saying, I think I've discovered what you're suffering from. However, it's going to take a few more sessions to discover what caused this particular phobia to manifest itself."

"That's alright, Doc. As my Grandaddy used to say, 'Knowing the problem is half the battle.'"

"You're suffering from Sciophobia,1 which is an inordinate fear of shadows. In this case, it's your own shadow your afraid of."

"And that's what causes me to flee back into my din if I see my shadow on February 2."

"So why does this phobia just manifest itself on February 2?" Punxsutawney Phil sit up on the psychiatrist's couch and stretched.

"That's what we'll talk about in our next session. How about Friday, February 2?"

"Could we make it the following Friday? February 2 is Groundhog Day and I have to work. If see my shadow that day, I won't bet able to leave my din for at least a week."
