The Day The Music Died
Saturday, February 3, 2018

The "Blogging Circle of Friends prompt for DAY 1906
The Day the Music Died. On this day in 1959, Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and the Big Bopper were all killed in a plane crash. Write a tribute to either one of these three singers, a singer in your generation that died prematurely, or a singer who recently died.

I was 12 years old,
The Day the Music Died,
I'm not sure if I cried.

Rock 'n Roll
speaks to my soul.

Music was part of my growing up years. My grandparents listened to gospel and country. My siblings, friends, and I listened to rock 'n Roll or anything that was popular. I know that some people considered Rock 'n Roll the Devils music, but my parents and grandparents didn't stop us from listening to it or, for that matter, any type of music we wanted to play. So I grew up listening to gospel, country, rock 'n roll, blues, or whatever was playing on the radio.
