Image for BCOF members to put in their blogs Prompt: "On this day, 1831 Edgar Allan Poe was.removed from West Point military academy. You're his only defense, he wants to stay. What's your argument going to be on his behalf."

I would have to have more information than that to mount a defense. I suppose I could be like Jesus when He was tried and mount no defense but then we don't know if Edgar was guilty or not. Besides law is not my specialty. I wouldn't know a tort from a tart. So if Edgar is depending on me to defend him he's in big trouble!

Blog City image small Prompt: Prompt: “It is hard enough to remember my opinions, without also remembering my reasons for them!”
Friedrich Nietzsche
Are you always aware of the reasons for your opinions and the way you think? And what do you make of Nietzche’s quote?"

Nietzche had good reason for thinking the way he did because he was an atheist if I recall my philosophy class properly. He created existentialism and the humanism that sprang from it. If he had been a Christian he would have known the scriptures and remembered Jessus saying that it was good for Jesus to go away because if Jesus went away the Holy Spirit would come and bring all the things Jesus taught to people's remembrance. I don't quote scripture because my memory is great. My memory is lousy. I quote scripture because I am guided by the Holy Spirit who helps me recall them. Nietzche did not have that advantage because he did not believe. I guarantee you he believes in Jesus now!
