A Link in the Chain

I am a link in the chain
of the development of humankind.

I am a link
impelling the species forward
from the primordial ocean
to the edge of the universe.

I am one of the links,
in this transitional age,
encouraging the progress of the race.

I Am A Link

I am a link in the chain
of the evolution of mankind,
impelling the race forward--
as it moves from primordial ocean
to the edge of infinity.

I am one of the links,
whose presence in this transitional age,
affects the progress of the race.
