The Challenges of Life
The battles for our lives
are often won through show of force,
But use of force is rarer
when the chiders see our choice.

The battle of the covers
has its start at break of day.
The creaky joints are stiff
from the Joys of yester-"play."

The customers are hot
from the humid air in South.
Great caution must be used
with responses from the mouth.

The "wall" of marathon
needs the push of "I must go!"
The sprint of 5-K race
keeps the stride within the flow.

A poem every day
makes a month of beauteous verse.
A chapter in the book
takes the hero's bad to worse.

The cause of midlife spread
is the lethargy of bed.
The run of daily road
is some lessons to be said.

My hope at end of day
is the victories I've won.
My self must do the right
for my title is "His son."
