Intone gratitude
Chant the words of thanksgiving
Raise your voice in praise

Today I am thankful that my checking account is not overdrawn;

Water and coffee
are necessary liquids;
indispensable.

Today I am grateful that I was able to write three poem before 12:00 P.M. Pacific Daylight time.

Prayer and meditation
are spiritual essentials;
read sacred scriptures.

Today I am thankful that the morning was cool enough to leave the door open.

Writing poetry
searching for theme and ideas,
or metaphors and similes.
