Mother of the Year

With a scream
I spit him out
from between my legs,
kissed the top of his tiny, sticky head
then let him go.
He was going his own way anyhow.
Those who know do not say.
Those who say do not know..
There is death.
There is chance.
Spider Woman spins her web
between the two.
Maman knows her limits.
