Memories of May:
Both happy and sad on Mother's Day,
I say a prayer for the departed.

Memories of May,
return from my childhood,
Memorial Day
when Grandma and Grandpa Newland
placed crepe paper flowers
on graves.

Memories of May
celebrating the Twelfth Day of Ridvan
and the Declaration of the Bab,
and commemorating the Ascension of Baha'u'llah.

Memories of May
some happy,
and some sad,
but all cherished.
