Lady Liberty

Who will keep the home fires burning
if all the women are on the battle field.
I shall be the Lady Liberty
of the hearth.
Not all soldiers carry swords.
Some tend the sacred flame.
Holding space.
Saving grace.

and passes the torch
to a bare breasted Stormy among the tricoteuses
at the guillotine.
No MAGA cap
but a red Phyrgian hat
atop her blonded locks.
Liberte.
Egalite.
Fraternite.
