To Jesus Christ: The Anoited One
1
His Holiness Christ

He is the word
God imparted to Mary
the manifestation of divine love.

He is the voice
of the spirit calling
from behind the veil of flesh.

He is the Son
expressing the Father's will
the reflection of divine attributes

He is the vocal chords
of matter intoning salvation's melody.

2
We Forgot

We celebrate the bookends of His life
(the manager and the cross),
but we've forgotten the years between
like water turned to wine
consumed at a marriage feast.

In a world transformed by His blood
Roman areans crumbed into dust,
and souls reborn created art for Him;
but we forgot to watch for His return.

3
The Reveler

Mirror of divine attributes
Manifestation of the All-Merciful.

4
The Miracle of Easter

It was not the resurrection,
but the blood Christ shed
upon the cross
that caused faith's germination.

5
Easter Egg

The cross was not the end!
It only held the brightly colored shell,
that cracked
to free the life within.

6
Invocation

O Son of God!
What nova announced your birth
on the first Christmas night?
What star's expanding gasses proclaimed
salvation's prerequisite?

7
Defining Christianity

Christian
anyone who centers belief
on Jesus Christ;
on the Christ spirit.

8
Candy Cane

Embraced
by red and white spiral stripes,
this reminder
of Christ's revelation
mirrors both
the blood Jesus shed
on the cross
and the purity
of religion renewed.

Downsideup,
this sweet symbol of salvation
is the initial of Jesus--
God's Manifestation.

Upside down,
this rock hard symbol of God's covenant
is the staff
of the Good Shepherd extended
to retrieve straying sheep.

9
He Walked

He walked among us,
a man among men,
not as an incarnation,
but as God's Manifestation.

10
Christmas

Christmas comes but once a year,
We commemorate Christ's birth,
At the coldest time of year,
Winter's religious rebirth.

We celebrate each Christmas,
With close friends and family,
We give nice gifts at Christmas,
And send cards to be friendly.

Christ was God's gift to humanity,
So we celebrate Christ's Mass,
But for get to help humanity,
The true reason for Christmas.

11
Christmas Meditation

In some distant galaxy,
Do stars like the light upon my Christmas Tree,
Pulse rhythmically for Christ born in another sentient form.

12
A Christmas Prayer

Dear Jesus,
on this day we celebrate your birth
into a world of darkness and fear,
help us to see the splendor
of your return in glory
and the beauty of divine unity.

Anointed One,
Outside my window the darkness is supreme,
the grandeur of morning appears hours away,
because the light of resurrection
and the mercy of salvation
are hidden behind clouds of fear and hate.
Amen

13
Caedmon,
The First Christian Poet

Singing the Creator's praise,
Caedmon,
the cowherd,
ascends through all the worlds of God.

14
Easter 2003 A.D.

On Easter morning
Not everyone celebrates
Christ's resurrection.

On Easter Sunday
Clouds gather hiding the sun
Storms threaten world peace.

15
Holiday Monday

The morning after Easter dawns bright and clear,
The world pauses to take a breath and review
To inhale the scent of a brand new day
And listen to the songs of resurrection.
