Friend
She sends me pressed flowers
folded in tissue
for no reason at all.
Crazy yellow, purple pansies,
and violets from our holy earth.
Golden spirals of logarithmic growth
like the arms of galaxies
and hurricane bands.
And so our friendship moves
inward, outward,
forward and back
never ceasing.
The sigh of saints
rasping for breath.
