above us only skies
John Lennon

skies
one on top of another
stacked beyond the perception
of matter

always ascending
the lover pursues the Beloved
through the variegated spectrum of immortality

Skies
ever changing
ever transforming
ever receding

the lover ascends
while the Beloved floats
just beyond touch
beckoning
